Book Summary
The hijab is not a monolithic piece of cloth: different sects, regions, and cultures use and style Islamic head coverings in differing ways. Though much research has been done on hijab, its history, and the reasons behind wearing it, little has been done on which styles women prefer and why. This study aims to ascertain urban Iranian women's headscarf style preferences and determine whether education, social class, and income play a role in how these women choose and wear hijab styles.
