Book Summary
Following the same format as the first volume, each text and its English translation is prepared and fully annotated by one of the foremost scholars in the field. Among the six additional volumes planned in this set are Hymns and Prayers, Commentaries and Apocraphyl Texts. With this series, Westminster John Knox Press, in collaboration with J.C.B. Mohr (Paul Siebeck), presents the most-up-to-date and comprehensive presentation of the sectarian Dead Sea Scrolls. The project is under the direction of James H. Charlesworth and includes the participation of virtually every notable scholar in the field today. The texts are being prepared with the benefit of advanced computer technology, thereby frequently yielding more accurate readings than previous publications. Many documents with multiple witnesses will receive a critical apparatus for the first time. All nonbiblical texts found at Qumran will be included.
